It's fall now, isn't it? I should get back to decorating. So another question...favorite thing about Halloween? Decoration-wise, holiday-wise, anything. This is pretty important.

She's been spending the last few days rearranging all of the furniture and putting up new shelves and such with Haruhi's help. And now. There are fake maple leaves all over the walls. And outside. Along with some cut-out paper pumpkins strung along the walls. Villagers are free to find her outside on the porch of All Passions staplegunning things to the building and such.]

Well, it's...actually something I've been thinking about. A lot, lately. But...that's kind of the problem. I keep thinking about it because I can't decide how long to wait about--something.

Toothless is gone. He's in the mountains--but...he doesn't remember me. I just...can't decide what to do. And time isn't helping.

I'm sorry Hiccup. That's...almost worse than if he'd gone home and come back, because you know he's still here but it's like he got a mind wipe.

No chances of his memory coming back at all?

There is. But--well. This guy, Ganondorf? He fixed Toothless' tail so he can fly on his own. But that's what wiped his memory. So if I ask him to change his memories back, he'll lose his tail again, too.

What'd he do to him? Something's not adding up.

He sort of...took control of him. As some kind of...I don't know, henchman, I guess. Hench-dragon. Whatever.

...He said he did it to save him.

So he possessed your dragon and made him forget everything...Hiccup, I don't know about all of that. Is it really worth it?

I-I...I'd do anything to have him back. But he...he's...it isn't fair, you know? I can't ask him to take his fixed tail away, but he can't get his memories back unless he does. How can I...

[He let's himself trail off.]

It's a hard decision...choosing your happiness or his. But I mean...how unhappy was he before his tail was fixed?

...He wasn't. At least, I-I don't think he was. Maybe that's just...what I want to believe.

Tell me why you think he wasn't. I don't care if it's true or not, there has to be a reason you believe that.

Well...i don't know. He just seemed like he was having a good time, I guess. When we were together...we didn't have to worry about things, because...

[With Toothless, he could handle anything.] He only ever seemed upset when...when I was threatened.

...he was protective of you. Like a guard dog. And...you built him his own tail anyway, didn't you?

Well, yeah. I'd...I wanted him to be able to fly again. I'd taken that away from him. I had to give it back. But I couldn't make it work unless I was riding him.

...if he seemed content with that, I don't know why you let someone fix something that wasn't exactly broken anymore. But maybe I'm just not understanding.

...Well, that's just it. I didn't let him do it. Toothless went out hunting while I was kidnapped, and...that's when he found him. All alone. Like he'd been abandoned, without a way to feed himself with his tail like that. So he just did what he thought was right, I guess.

That's not fair! That wasn't his decision to make if Toothless is your dragon!

I--Shiki, I--[Part of him agrees with her. But part of him feels selfish for feeling that way.] But he didn't even have a way of knowing Toothless had an owner. And if he hadn't done something, I don't know, he might have...I just. It's my own fault for not being prepared.

You shouldn't be blaming yourself. Didn't you just say it's all because you were kidnapped? How can that be your fault?

...I should have...I don't know. Taken precautions, or something. I should have realized if I ever was kidnapped, and someone wasn't around to feed Toothless...I mean, what would he have done if he hadn't been able to eat?

[Toothless was resourceful, sure. But Hiccup still feels awfully guilty, like he's abandoned him.]
