Fifty-First Spool of Thread - [Voice/Action]

[Well today Shiki's sitting inside All Passions behind the til, her own special little elf sitting side-by-side with Mr. Mew. She's currently working on something with her hands, though it's not quite in view of the camera yet. However, anyone who's looking will notice that the little elf is shifting through what looks like an elf-sized wardrobe full of outfits. Said-elf might also be trying to dress Mr. Mew. That's not going too well. The shop itself has been decked out with little lights shaped like stars and Christmas music is playing in the background. Shiki continues to work as she addresses the village.]

So this is, what, my third Christmas here? I'm starting to run out of ideas for presents for you guys, but maybe I'll try my hand at baking. [She giggles a bit.] Just kidding, I'm totally prepared. I've been totally good this year. [Hear that, Elf? Shiki's been good. In fact, she stops working to tilt her journal toward a pile of fancy wrapped boxes, presents for her close friends and housemates.]

Pretty, right? Just remember, if you need a last-minute gift for that special someone, or, well, anyone really, stop by All Passions! I've got just the thing for you.

...but can you guys try to stop by before it gets too dark? I wanted to close up early today, maybe go ice skating or make a snowman if anybody wants to join me.

[And she's adding the finishing touches to her project before holding it in her hands. A crown. A mistletoe crown, in fact, to go along with her new holiday dress, the newest of her winter line.] What do you think? Too much? I kind of like it. I'm really getting so much better at designing things myself. [In fact, she's just going to put the crown on her head.

It's probably best not to ask her where she got the mistletoe from.]

Anyway, merry Christmas everybody. PS, if any of you received...um...any kind of questionable gift outside of your house? Blame the elf. [Shiki may or may not have gone around to strangers' homes and decorated the outside of their doors with ribbons, bows and lights, along with leaving behind a box of cookies that might be slightly burnt. Shiki's not the best baker.]

It's nice to see you, too. [She's already walking away to find where she's stowed his present though.]

I just said I like stuff. It doesn't have to be things I like.

[She's back with a wrapped box.] How does that make any kind of sense?

I never said it was healthy, okay. [Ah, but a box. Color him intrigued. He is anxious to open it.]

Sokka, I'm counting on you to keep me sane. You're sorta letting me down here. [But she hands him the box. Whenever he opens it he'll find a.) a dozen maple bacon cookies b.) a new winter jacket that she's managed to fold up into the tiniest square to fit in the box c.) a sword maintenance kit with polish and oils and all that jazz and d.) a set of water colors and a stack of paper. Yes. Paints.]

[He'll tackle them one at a time. He has a cookie in his mouth by the time he's checking out the paint.]

You know, Toph got me a set like this my first year here. I ended up using it all up and never replacing it. And is this bacon?

It's bacon. You have no idea how long it took me to figure out the right balance. [But she blinks in surprise.] What? Why not?

I know this is hard to believe, but I get the feeling that people don't think my art is very good.

[Action]

Well it's not. [Ow, Shiki, that's harsh.] But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it. I mean look at Mr. Mew. He's not perfect but that didn't stop me from continuing to sew, right?

[Ouch.]

So you think I can become a great artist one day?

[Action]

Depends. Do you want to be?

Maybe. I can't say it's my greatest dream. But sometimes a guy would like to do a little doodle and people appreciate it.

Then keep doing it. [A beat.] At least you'd have one person who'd appreciate it.

I hope that's not a serious question.

Ah. Suki. Of course. Though I think she just says she likes my stuff because she's my girlfriend.

[She just smacks his arm.] I meant me! But I guess Suki, too.

Wow. I didn't realize you were so devoted to my works of art.

Maybe I'm just a big believer of people doing what makes them happy.
