Ninth Spool of Thread-[Voice/Action]

[Everybody should be used to this by now, Shiki's sitting on her soapbox outside of All Passions with Mr. Mew just people-watching and half-reading the magazine in her lap]

Well, I can't say I've ever made a sail before, but it's finished. Everything's finished and everything should have been picked up by now...oh!

Arashi, I finished yours! I can either deliver it or you can come get it, whichever works best for you. Hopefully it'll look okay.

Now that everything's done, what's left? Come on, I'm starting to get bored here! There's only so much room in the shop for me to store stuff I've made. [She goes back to reading her magazine then, though her eyes are still peering over the top of the pages to watch the streets.]

Another cycle gone and he's not back yet. He better be okay back there.

[well at first Shiki just kind of ignores it but as Kirk walks by she'll see the jagged gross-looking cuts in the fabric. Nuh-uh, not gonna tolerate that] Hey you!

[Kirk spins around. Oh hey, a girl.]

[Shiki gets up and drops the magazine on the box, but not Mr. Mew of course and she's going to march right up to Kirk and grin so she doesn't scare him off] Hi. Where do you think you're going with your clothes like that?

Is there something wrong with my clothes, miss?

Just a little. There's jagged holes in the back.

Yeah. See the thing is? The Federation doesn't make the uniforms for wings.

[Of course the jacket isn't part of the uniform. He's just using it to hide the rank and Starfleet insignias till he has his grips of the place.]

That's...really not a good excuse. You think I originally made these for wings? [she gestures at her current outfit] No, I had to fix it but at least it looked clean. C'mon, let me fix it.

[Raises an eyebrow. He doesn't see why it's a big deal, but she's a nice girl.]

Alright.

[She'll grin again and stick out her hand for a handshake] I'm Shiki. You are?

[Grins back, shaking her hand.]

Captain James T. Kirk. You can call me Jim.

Jim huh? Fair enough. C'mon. [and so Shiki starts leading him back to the shop and inside]

[/smooth. He follows her inside, damn girl you're small.]

[Yes, yes we are. Enter the shop and Shiki will lead them into a back room where she's got all of her supplies and stuff] Okay, strip.

Excuse me? [USUALLY WE GO ON A DATE BEFORE THIS STEP.]

...the shirt, Jim. How am I going to fix it if you're still wearing it? [SORRY, SHIKI DOESN'T SEE THE NEED FOR SILLY THINGS LIKE GETTING TO KNOW PEOPLE BEFORE STRIPPING THEM]

[SO HE SEES. You are tiny.]

[Throws a grin and takes off the denim jacket. Underneath is a golden shirt (http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/memoryalpha/en/images/d/da/James_T._Kirk_Chris_Pine_on_the_Bridge_as_Captain.jpg). Three stripes are on the sleeve, two thick silver ones with a thin one in between. On the right chest side is a small silver delta arrowhead on it. It has a star in the center of it as well. And under the gold shirt is the hint of a black collar.]

[Yes we know D: And you're just really really tall my god.]

Maybe, but that's not going to help. [grins and takes the jacket first, picking up some scissors, thread, and a needle before sitting in a chair and working on the jacket and kicking a chair toward him] So what's the symbol mean? [of course she means the arrowhead on the shirt]

[He just finds it funny is all. Kirk glances at the chair then takes off the gold shirt, ready to hand it to her when she needs it.]

It means you are apart of Starfleet.

...Starfleet. [she sounds a little amused because c'mon, it sounds funny when you've never heard of it before but it's also a questioning tone] Space?

Starfleet operates in space, yes. Fleet that the United Federation of Planets uses in order to make negotiations, explore, and in the rare occasions? Fight.

[of course those instances aren't so rare for Kirk. He pulls the shirt right side out.]

So more or less it's like a fleet of pioneer-diplomats? [she's pretty quick to finish up his jacket and once that's done she'll trade him for his shirt]

[a laugh]

Yeah, that's pretty much what we do. [He hands her the shirt and takes the jacket.]

Careful with that one.

I've been sewing most of my life, I'll be nice to it. [Shiki finds another color thread to match the shirt and starts working on that] So really being here's probably driving you crazy.

I was on Earth most my life until I enlisted, used to being on a planet. This place is just plain old boring.

What, you don't think this counts as a planet?
