[There's the sudden sound of a bunch of boxes falling to the ground, contents spilling everywhere as the journal's camera points up to the ceiling. It shifts suddenly to focus on a particular pink-haired girl who was unceremoniously dumped into the back room of her shop on top of said boxes.]

Ugh...thanks for the warning, jerks. [She begins to untangle herself from the boxes of ribbons and fabrics, moving the journal closer to speak. For the most part, she seems pretty unharmed.]

Hey...so what day is it anyway? Here's hoping I wasn't gone too long, totally bad for business. [There's a slight beat, suddenly remembering something. You know, her housemate that was alone for like a week.] Haruhi, report. [She works her way out from under the pile of materials and the door to the back room swings open, allowing her to enter the main part of the shop.]

Neku...you better have made it back. That was pretty low of them, keeping us sort of together and then sending you back first. Besides, I was right in the middle of designing a n--

[There's a long pause suddenly as she really takes a look at the shop. She's staring at a row of dresser dummies, counting them in her head.]

All right, which one of you broke into my shop when I was gone?!

I'm not saying it is. Just, you know, that's how things go around here. You don't think things are as bad here as people act until you actually have an experiment happen to you.

...yeah, okay, I guess you have a point there. I never thought it was that bad before my first experiment. But what about the people that have worse things going on for them in their home worlds? Does that still apply?

I... have no idea. Luceti is a pretty bad place to have an an improvement over home.

They were very quiet before I left. Not so quiet a few weeks before that. Seriously, you go and end a war and bam, you get stuck in here. Completely unfair, am I right?

[Well, yeah, he is right. It's kinda like how you win the Game, go home for a week, and then get stuck here for a few years.] Totally...but that's probably why they do it. But it just means that when we do leave everything will still be peaceful when you get back. That's one bright side, isn't it?

[She hesitates for a moment, trying to think of the best way to word this.] ...yeah. I mean, things were a little crazy for a month before I wound up here, but a week or two after that ended? Everything was okay again, back to normal.

... seems like your usual story here. Or people who are in the middle of doing all that. Either way, there's not a lot of people here with boring lives.

Think about it from their point of view. The boring ones probably wouldn't make for very good test subjects. I'm not supporting them or anything, but it's something to think about.
