I've never been more glad to be a girl in my life. Ugh. So glad that's over. Everybody else okay? It sounded like things were getting pretty messy toward the end. [she's also seemingly cleaning out a separate workstation, moving everything to a different room] I...think Kanji's really gone. I haven't seen him in ages, anybody else?

Beat's gone too; the house he and Rhyme were sharing? Completely empty. That just leaves me... I'm glad those two got back home at least, they were here for a long time anyway.

So I've noticed that the weather's getting perfect for hitting the water, so if anybody needs a swimsuit for summer just drop by and I can make you something. Really I just need something to do before I go crazy here. Anyway, I'm Shiki for anybody who doesn't know, the shop's next to the weapon shop, you can't miss it.

[Eventually she wanders outside and sits on her porch swing with Mr. Mew, watching the village] It's almost that time for new feathers, isn't it? Does anybody else feel like time's going really fast, or is it just me? Oh well.

Really? It's usually still snowing in February, at least where I come from... What was it like here?

There was still snow on the ground, and it was cold enough that you couldn't go out without a jacket but it wasn't cold or snowy enough to lock us all inside.

I'd hope not. Sounds like the weather here is pretty nice year-round, then.

Nice enough, if you don't mind occasional heat waves and snow storms. I like it here.

...I know. So many good things have happened here for me already...I wish I could just ignore the bad.

I think that can be said for all of us. I mean...so many people here are seeing people they thought they'd never see again, and we're all meeting people from different worlds. If we ever leave, what happens then? That's kind of the sad part, I'm not that bothered because I have friends and I'm actually doing what I love to do.

That--happened my first day here. Seeing someone I never thought I'd see again. If I leave...I'm still figuring that out.

If I leave here...things are going to change for me. I'll be different there than I am here. I like to just not think about it though. It's easier that way for the time being.

That's true. There's enough to focus on here--the future can wait for now. [And questions of swiftly impending mortality.]

Sometimes people stagnate. Fall into a routine. ...But I guess that's a change in itself.

This is the kind of place that can change people radically.

It can be! That's why I'm glad to have friends here. If I change for the worse, I'm sure they'll help me work things out.
