[Considering that the weather's fairly decent today, Shiki's decided today is a good day to spend outside. For anybody who's known her long enough, they might recognize the crate that she's sitting on as the one she used to use before the porch around the shop was built. Today, she's facing the shop and just looking it over, sketching out some things on a piece of paper. Soon enough though, she starts writing a message to the community]

I think I know the obvious answer, but where would be the best place to get fresh flowers when I'm ready for them? And, you know, planters and dirt and stuff.

Also, the spring line's just about finished if anybody needs something for the new season.

I think I can help fix it then. I finally finished most of what I wanted to get done for spring, but I'm going to hold off on summer. I don't know if I even have to bother asking if you want to come look. [Busy getting up off of the crate already.]

I'm right behind you. And summer can definitely wait.

I was thinking maybe you could help me with summer anyway. [And into the shop they go! And...yeah, all of the winter stuff's been mostly cleared out and replaced with shirts, skirts, blouses, lightweight jackets, light scarves, pants, and even a few rain coats.] It's smaller than last year's collection, but I'm pretty sure we'll be adding hats into the mix thanks to Molly. Thoughts?

A girl can always use a few cute hats. [Buffy intently flips through some of the items, pouring her approval all over them with her smiles.] And...as for help? I'd love to.

That's what I figured, and she's adorable. I really kind of couldn't say no. [Shiki's just hovering near her because she likes approval, really ~~and my brain's so shot I can't even think of what her things look like rn~~] I had a feeling you'd say that. Give you something to do, help me out a little. It's a good compromise.

And me? I'm a fan of compromises. Especially when they involve collaborating with a fashion genius. [Buffy tugs a skirt free, holding it up to herself.]

But you totally made with the evasion, hun. How are you?

Genius? I think I can live with that, especially if my assistant's as fashion-forward as I am.

I'm actually doing pretty good. Keeping busy, staying happy. Anything bad that was happening last time I actually talked to you? Totally fixed.

See? These things--they blow over. So, does this mean you and Neku are back in the comfy zone?

Comfy zone? Something like that. Everything's been forgiven and officially forgotten because really, that whole week was just a giant wreck.

Tell me about it. It was like a five wrecks piled on top of each other.

[She twists, looking down at the skirt.] What do you think--with mid-calf boots?

Please tell me you managed to fix up all of your problems you had? It wouldn't be right if I had and you hadn't.

[Shiki hums in thought, tilting her head and examining the skirt.] Most definitely. Boots pretty much go with anything, as long as they're the right boot.

Fixed enough. I got new stuff to deal with--less, y'know, traumatizing stuff.

And it's new stuff you're going to tell me about, right?

Some folks from home showed up. And I know it sucks for them to be here but--jeez, Shiki. I can't help but get my smile on about it.

If it makes you feel better? That's how I felt when Neku came back and Mr. H showed up. So who are they? Anybody really interesting?

There's my BFF, Willow. We met on the first day in high school and have almost been entirely inseparable, since. [Her voice drops in enthusiasm:] Then, there's Spike.

[She nods while Buffy explains about Willow because hey, bffs are awesome, but she suddenly stops and looks at her.] Spike's back?

He doesn't remember being here, Shiki.

[She had been so self-involved...she had forgotten that there were people who had known him here, before.]

...it's always a hit or miss with these guys. Sometimes people remember, sometimes they don't. He's still a vampire, right?

Yep. And I've never known him, not-vamped. But he's still souled up.

So he's like Angel, right? Didn't you tell me Angel had a soul too?

Exactly--only, don't let him hear you say that. Angel comparisons tend to drive him a little aggro.

Good to know. I'll do my best not to mention it around him. Why is that though?

Oh, you know. He's not so keen on hanging out in his grand-sire's shadow.
