[Considering that the weather's fairly decent today, Shiki's decided today is a good day to spend outside. For anybody who's known her long enough, they might recognize the crate that she's sitting on as the one she used to use before the porch around the shop was built. Today, she's facing the shop and just looking it over, sketching out some things on a piece of paper. Soon enough though, she starts writing a message to the community]

I think I know the obvious answer, but where would be the best place to get fresh flowers when I'm ready for them? And, you know, planters and dirt and stuff.

Also, the spring line's just about finished if anybody needs something for the new season.

Comfy zone? Something like that. Everything's been forgiven and officially forgotten because really, that whole week was just a giant wreck.

Tell me about it. It was like a five wrecks piled on top of each other.

[She twists, looking down at the skirt.] What do you think--with mid-calf boots?

Please tell me you managed to fix up all of your problems you had? It wouldn't be right if I had and you hadn't.

[Shiki hums in thought, tilting her head and examining the skirt.] Most definitely. Boots pretty much go with anything, as long as they're the right boot.

Fixed enough. I got new stuff to deal with--less, y'know, traumatizing stuff.

And it's new stuff you're going to tell me about, right?

Some folks from home showed up. And I know it sucks for them to be here but--jeez, Shiki. I can't help but get my smile on about it.

If it makes you feel better? That's how I felt when Neku came back and Mr. H showed up. So who are they? Anybody really interesting?

There's my BFF, Willow. We met on the first day in high school and have almost been entirely inseparable, since. [Her voice drops in enthusiasm:] Then, there's Spike.

[She nods while Buffy explains about Willow because hey, bffs are awesome, but she suddenly stops and looks at her.] Spike's back?

He doesn't remember being here, Shiki.

[She had been so self-involved...she had forgotten that there were people who had known him here, before.]

...it's always a hit or miss with these guys. Sometimes people remember, sometimes they don't. He's still a vampire, right?

Yep. And I've never known him, not-vamped. But he's still souled up.

So he's like Angel, right? Didn't you tell me Angel had a soul too?

Exactly--only, don't let him hear you say that. Angel comparisons tend to drive him a little aggro.

Good to know. I'll do my best not to mention it around him. Why is that though?

Oh, you know. He's not so keen on hanging out in his grand-sire's shadow.

...'grand-sire'?

Before he switched teams, Angel sired Drusilla--y'know, that creepy ass uberevil vamp that occasionally shows her face and then skidaddles before I can turn her into dust? Well, Drusilla sired Spike. The three of them--along with Angel's sire--hung out like some kind of evil foursome before Angel got his soul.

That's kind of disturbing. I'm guessing Drusilla's one that doesn't have a soul then.

Nope. Pure evil. And totally stakeable until Spike showed up.

[Argh, Captain Peroxide. Why did you have to complicate things.] He'll probably wanna deal with her himself or something equally noble and idiotic.

But how well would that even work out?

Honestly? I have no sweet clue.

Well that's just great. Let's hope we don't have to find out.

Yeah, a vamp war? Not my idea of a picnic. At...midnight, what with the not being able to go out in the day.

[Buffy sighs.] He's been kinda wigged about it all, Shiki. I'd suggest laying low about the knowing him until he's got a bit more settled.

I don't really think that's anybody's idea of a good time, let's just be honest here. I'll keep quiet though, this place is unsettling enough as it is without random strangers coming up to you insisting they know who you are.
