[There's a bit of a static feed as the journal turns on, and Shiki doesn't say anything for a moment. She's busy reading over everything from the last few days, but she finally decides to talk to the village at large.]

So. Hypothetical question. ...how long is too long to wait? For people, for objects, for anything. Give me your thoughts on this.

It's fall now, isn't it? I should get back to decorating. So another question...favorite thing about Halloween? Decoration-wise, holiday-wise, anything. This is pretty important.

[Important in the sense that when she's done addressing the journal, she's busy flitting about her shop. She's been spending the last few days rearranging all of the furniture and putting up new shelves and such with Haruhi's help. And now. There are fake maple leaves all over the walls. And outside. Along with some cut-out paper pumpkins strung along the walls. Villagers are free to find her outside on the porch of All Passions staplegunning things to the building and such.]

Do you really? [She looks over her shoulder at the girl while she's busy stapling some of those leaves around one of the pillars of the porch.] Thanks. I'm hoping it's just subtle enough to look good but stands out enough to grab more customers.

Well you'd probably have more if you just took over the regular shop. [He's just tossing that out there, though. It's what he did with the smithy, after all.]

I've thought about it, but I kind of like this building. It's really mine, you know? It's not something pre-established that I took over. I founded it. And I kind of built it.

.... well, I guess there's that. [He did take over the Smithy, but by now, he kind of felt like it was his. He couldn't just move it. And Haruhi had her Brigade...] I guess the Brigade is the same way.

Yeah exactly, see? It'd be like telling you to join forces with one of the other groups here just because they're similar. These things give us our identities practically.

I guess you're right. I keep thinking maybe I should just confess to everybody since that really is all that matters, but then I keep avoiding it.

...besides, I feel sorta hypocritical. It doesn't matter what you look like, but I make clothes.

Hey, if you don't want to confess, don't confess. Even if people will be fine either way, at least it saves you the trouble of confusing them. [Saying otherwise would make Sokka the hypocrite. Like hell he's coming out with the fact that he's Sokka.]

Guess that's why I haven't. It's basically saying "by the way for the last two and a half years I've lied to all of you about what I look like. Let's pretend it never happened." Give me a break.

It's not so much lying as it is... neglecting to reveal certain truths.

Everyone's got their own secrets. They're not everyone else's business. [Though the "I'm apparently God" secret is a doozie.]

Point. I just tend to pick out everyone else's secrets instead. Ever noticed that? You, Minato, Rena, Keiichi...it's weird.

Well there's probably plenty of other secrets you don't know yet. [Heck, Sokka knows his own fair share of them now. It almost makes his utter lack of secrets kind of disappointing.]

Maybe not very big one or very many, but it's weird...it's like I've known him for a while but I barely know anything about him.

But it was like that with you for a while before Brach.

I think all there is to know about him is what's on the surface. Really. I don't think he's very deep.
